1. The service
CertifyMyWatch provides professional watch authentication. Our result is the considered, good-faith expert opinion of a trained watchmaker based on physical inspection of the item as presented, on the date of inspection. We are an independent third party and are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any watch manufacturer or brand.
2. Not an appraisal or investment advice
Authentication is an opinion on authenticity, not a valuation, appraisal, or guarantee of market value, condition, or future worth. Any declared value you provide is used only for shipping coverage and handling, not as our valuation.
3. Submissions, shipping & ownership
You are responsible for accurately describing your watch. By submitting, you represent that you own the watch or are authorized to submit it. Shipping is arranged using an insured carrier; coverage is based on the value you declare and is subject to the carrier's terms and limits. Risk and coverage during transit are governed by the carrier. We are not liable for loss or damage beyond the applicable carrier coverage.
4. Fees & payment
Fees are shown before you pay and are processed by our payment provider. Except as stated in the Authenticity Guarantee below, fees are non-refundable once inspection has begun, including where the result is "not authentic" — you are paying for the expert inspection and report, not for a particular outcome.
5. Authenticity Guarantee
If a watch we certify as "authentic" is, within [30] days of our certificate date, independently determined to be counterfeit by a recognized authority (e.g., the original manufacturer or an equivalently qualified expert), we will refund your authentication fee and reasonably assist you in resolving the matter. This guarantee: (a) is your sole and exclusive remedy; (b) requires you to provide written documentation of the independent determination; (c) does not apply to genuine watches containing aftermarket or replacement parts that we disclosed; and (d) does not cover any loss, damage, or transaction you entered into in reliance on the certificate beyond the refund stated here.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid for the relevant authentication. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits or the value of any transaction, even if advised of the possibility.
7. Certificates & verification
Certificates and their records remain part of our verification database. Each certificate can be confirmed at certifymywatch.com/verify. We may revoke or annotate a certificate if we later determine it was issued in error or based on inaccurate information.
8. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, submit items you do not own or are not authorized to submit, or attempt to forge, copy, or misrepresent a certificate.
9. Changes & governing law
We may update these Terms; continued use means acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
